Set a timer on your Mac.

There’s no timer in the menu bar, but there are quick ways to set one. The quickest is typing how long.

With the Clock app

On macOS Ventura and later, the Mac has the Clock app from iPhone and iPad. Press ⌘Space, type Clock, choose Timers and set how long. When it’s done, a notification tells you.

With Siri

Ask Siri to “set a timer for 10 minutes”. It runs in the Clock app, where you can pause or stop it.

By typing it, with Tilora

Press ⌥Space and type it the way you’d say it: “tea 4 min”, “10 min”, “pasta 9 min”. Press Return, and it counts down beside the notch, where you can see it over whatever you’re doing. The word before the time is its name. When it’s done, the notch tells you.

There’s a timer on Tilora’s Home too, and in its action ring: hold ⇧⌥Space.

Questions

Can I change ⌥Space?
