Which Macs get Apple’s Dynamic Island
Apple announced it on October 28, 2026, for the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro with a PROLED XDR display, available from November 6 with macOS 27. Apple says it holds Spotlight, Live Activities and Siri AI, and that you can pick up a call, control music or accept an AirDrop there. Spotlight moves into it only where Siri AI is available and turned on.
Apple hasn’t said whether other Macs will get it. On the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models with a notch before it, macOS shows nothing in the notch.
Which Mac you have
Choose Apple menu › About This Mac. Your Mac’s name, size and year are at the top. MacBook Air models with a Liquid Retina display and MacBook Pro models with a Liquid Retina XDR display have a notch.
A Dynamic Island in the notch you have
Tilora turns the notch into a Dynamic Island. It shows what’s playing with synced lyrics, your next meeting with Join, a file as it downloads, a call you’re on with mute and hang up, timers, AirPods and batteries, and the volume and brightness beside the notch.
Rest the pointer on the notch and it opens: music, your day, batteries, the clipboard and controls. Drag files to the top of the screen to keep them on the Shelf, convert them, AirDrop them or share a link. Press ⌥Space to search, and ⇧⌘V for what you copied.
It’s $9.99 once, for three Macs, and free for 7 days. It runs on macOS 14 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel. On a Mac without a notch, or an external display, it draws a small notch of its own.
Other notch apps
There are others, free and paid: the best known ones, from their own sites, and all of them side by side.
